    1106 Cydonia /sɨˈdniə/ is a main belt asteroid orbiting the Sun. It was discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on February 5, 1929 at Heidelberg, Germany. Its provisional designation was 1929 CW. It was named after a type of tree, the quince, belonging to the apple family.[2]
