Ömer Aslanoğlu (born May 23, 1988 in Trabzon) is a Turkish swimmer, who specialized in the breaststroke events.[1] Aslanoglu qualified for the men's 200 m breaststroke at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by eclipsing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:17.85 from the Speedo Turkish Open Senior Championships in Izmir.[2] He challenged four other swimmers on the first heat, including returning Olympian Sergio Ferreyra of Argentina. He raced to fourth place by 0.16 of a second behind Venezuela's Leopoldo Andara in 2:17.93. Aslanoglu failed to advance into the semifinals, as he placed fifty-first overall in the preliminaries.[3]
