Zulkifli Abdhir

Zulkifli Abdhir (1966-2012?) is a Malaysian who is/was the one of the most wanted terrorist, according to the FBI, who have offered a USD 5 million reward for information leading to his capture.[1]

Early life

Zulkifli Abhir was born on January/October 5, 1966 in Malaysia. Abdhir is known to reference both dates in different circumstances as his date of birth. According to the FBI, he is 5 feet 6 inches tall and 120 lbs and can speak Malaysian, Tagalog, English, and Arabic.[1] He trained as an engineer in the USA.[2]

Terrorism

Abdhir is suspected to be in charge of the south eastern Asian and Indonesian terrorist group called the Kumpulun Mujahidin Malaysia or KMM. The KMM is thought to be part of the international terrorist organization, Jemaah Islamiyah or JI. The Jemaah Islamiyah is thought to be the main cause of the devastating 2002 Bali bombings.[3] Abdhir is suspected to be the supplier of bombs to various terrorist groups around the world. He is also under suspicion of teaching terrorists how to build bombs. He is thought to be the most involved in the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group. Zulkifli Abdhir was indicted for arrest on August 1, 2007 in the United States District Court, Northern District of California.[4] Abdhir was thought to be hiding somewhere in the Philippines.[4]

Suspected death

Many in the Philippines believe he died during an airstrike on February 2, 2012. The Malaysian government asked for official DNA comparison on what was believed to be Abdhir's body to the DNA of one of Abdhir's siblings.[5]
