Zsolt Szokol (born 16 March 1990 in Békéscsaba) is a Hungarian football (defender) player who currently plays for Újpest FC. Although uncommon for defenders, Szokol is said to be one of the fastest players of his generation.

Club career

Békéscsaba

Zsolt Szokol was being brought up in Békéscsaba. He played for Békéscsaba 1912 Előre SE in the 2008/09 Nemzeti Bajnokság II.

Újpest

In the autumn of 2009 he aroused the interest of Újpest FC. After a trial the young talent was transferred for approximately 7 million forints, signing a contract until 2013.

2010–11 season

After a good first season in July he was invated to the U21 Hungarian National Team.

International career

In September 2010, he debuted for Hungary, playing in an under-21 against Wales U21.
