Zhou Mi (born April 19, 1986) is a Chinese Singer, songwriter, and actor. He is best known as a member of the Mandopop boy band Super Junior-M.

Career

Zhou Mi was born in Wuhan, China. Even before he became a singer, Zhou Mi made a name for himself in the Chinese entertainment scene - particularly in the field of music and TV hosting - by competing in and winning several music[1] and hosting contests. In Super Junior-M aside from providing lead and background vocals, he contributed to the group's first Chinese album "迷 (Me)" by writing the Chinese lyrics for "愛你愛你 (Love Song)", "Marry U" and "渴望 (A Man In Love)". In 2009, he wrote Chinese lyrics for "告白 (Confession)" and "愛情接力 (You & Me)" of Super Junior-M's first mini-album, Super Girl. The trend continued in 2011 with the group's second mini-album, 太完美 (Perfection), for which Zhou Mi wrote lyrics to "True Love." He also wrote Chinese lyrics for three tracks ("爱, 频率 (Breaka Shaka)"; "记得 (Remember)"; and "Many Times" ) on Kangta's Breaka Shaka first Chinese mini-album in 2010. Zhou Mi contributes with his first solo ballad "不留纪念 (Goodbye)" in the Skip Beat!'s OST from the Taiwanese television drama of the same name, in 2012. Zhou Mi was featured in a supporting role on the 2011 CCTV idol drama Melody of Youth. He also starred as a main character in the idol drama 爱情闯进门 (When Love Walked In), filmed in early 2012, with labelmate Victoria Song from girl group f(x). In 2013 he again contributed to the group's second studio album Break Down by writing the lyrics for three tracks: "Go", "It's You", and "Tunnel". The music for those first two songs were produced and composed by fellow Super Junior-M member Henry Lau's music production team, Noize Bank. His primary language is Mandarin, but he also speaks conversational Korean and basic English and Cantonese.

Becoming an SM Talent

Zhou Mi won the grand prize at the SM UCC Star Audition[2] although he did not audition directly. The audition was held online within a three-month period from March 27 until early June 2007. His Korean friend, Kim Ki Hoon, entered the audition for him through the "Recommend a Friend" category, where he uploaded a customized video with Zhou Mi's singing clip, which was "Naega neoui gyeote jamsi saratdaneungeor [내가 너의 곁에 잠시 살았다는걸] (That I was once by your side") from the original Korean singer: 토이 (Toy). His ability to sing in fluent Korean made him one of the top favorites among the netizens and judges alike.
