Zheng Long (Chinese: 郑龙; pinyin: Zhèng Lóng; born 15 April 1988 in Qingdao) is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League.
Club career
Zheng Long would start his professional football career in the 2006 league season after he graduated from the Qingdao youth team. He would eventually make his debut the following season against Zhejiang Lvcheng on the 3 March 2007 when they drew 1–1.[1] Throughout the season he would steadily establish himself within the Qingdao Jonoon team by playing in 20 league games, however it was in the 2008 league season that saw Zheng Long establish himself as a prominent left-sided player and an expert free-kick specialist within the team when he helped Qingdao with 5 goals in 27 appearances.[2]
On 19 July 2013, Zheng was loaned to Guangzhou Evergrande until 31 December 2013.[3] He made his first appearance for the team on 31 July 2013 when he subbed on against Beijing Guoan in a 3–0 home win.
International career
Zheng Long made debut for the Chinese national football team against Palestine on the 18 July 2009 which China won 3–1.[4] He scored his first goal for the national team on 8 November 2009 in a 2–2 draw against Kuwait.[5]
