Zhang Guozheng (simplified Chinese: 张国政; traditional Chinese: 張國政; pinyin: Zhāng Guózhèng; born September 14, 1974 in Shunchang, Nanping, Fujian) is a Chinese weightlifter. Zhang is a World champion, Olympic champion and World Record holder.
He began his current career of weightlifting when he started Nanping Sport School in March 1983. He then studied at the Beijing Sports University from 1988 to 1998. During college, Guozheng was in the Yunnan Provincial Team. By 1999, he was on the national team for China.
His impressive feats include a 197.5 kg clean and jerk at 69 kg body weight. He uses the power-jerk style, where one carries the weight into the overhead squat position prior to recovery.
