Z-STAR (pronounced ‘zee’ /ziː stɑːr/') is a Psychedelic Blues-Rock-Soul project of Zee Gachette, a British/Trinidadian singer, songwriter, musician and producer, based in Brighton, UK, signed to her own label, Muthastar Records. Frontwoman and bandleader Zee is joined by a line-up of world class musicians including Nikolaj Bjerre on Drums (Denmark), Diogenes Baptisttella on Electric Guitar (Brazil), Matt Gest on Keys (UK) and Sylvain Lamotte on Bass (France). It has been said that the band "rock so much raw funk, sexualised soul and blues rock passion that it's impossible not to be moved" [1] Rock royalty, Jimmy Page and Roger Daltrey, both offered their seal of approval having caught the band in their infancy a couple of years ago. 2013 has seen the band touring Europe with their latest EP, 16 Tons - they are currently recording their new album, 16 Tons of Love.
