Yuri Simonov

Yuri Ivanovich Simonov (Russian: Ю́рий Ива́нович Си́монов; born March 4, 1941, Saratov, Soviet Union) is a Russian conductor.[1]
He studied at the Leningrad Conservatory under Nikolai Rabinovich. He is currently director of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, where his witty and virtuosic technique has captured wide attention.[2]
In 1991, Yuri Simonov conducted the requiem by Benjamin Britten in the Cathedral of Marseille with young Conductor Didier Lucchesi.
