Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni is a comprehensive school in the west of Llangefni, Anglesey. Opened in around 1953, it has 840 students. There is a sixth form class for ages 17–20, the amount of sixth formers are increasing every year with 2010 being the record year as over 50 pupils re-attended the school. This was an increase from the usual 20 so pupils, but as education becomes more competitive the amount of people coming back to their school is constantly rising. There is a fairly large school hall with a permanent stage for shows and morning assembly. There is a leisure centre neighbouring the school, this centre's named Plas Arthur.[1]

Notable Attendies

Notable alumni include Oscar winning actor, Hugh Griffith and noted British novelist Gabriel Fielding, who both attended the school when it was still Llangefni County School, Hollywood Actress and Oscar nominee Naomi Watts, opera tenor Gwyn Hughes Jones, and TV and radio personality Hywel Gwynfryn.
