Yolanda Hadid Foster (born January 11, 1964)[1] is a Dutch American television personality, model, and interior designer. She is best-known for starring in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Early life

Foster grew up in Papendrecht, Netherlands, with her parents and brother, Leo. When she was 7, her father was killed in a car accident, leaving her mother to raise their two children by herself.[1]

Career

When Foster was 16, she did a hair show for her friend in Amsterdam. She was asked by Dutch designer, Frans Molenaar, to replace one of his models and go on the runway. That was when Foster was discovered by Eileen Ford, owner of Ford Models. After she signed with Ford, she modeled all over the world, modelling internationally in Paris, Milan, Sydney, Cape Town, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles and Hamburg.[1] Foster modeled for fifteen years before wanting to settle down and start a family. In 1994, Foster moved to Los Angeles to start her family after meeting and marrying Mohamed Hadid. After their divorce in 2000, Foster moved to Montecito with her children and ran her interior design business from home.[2]

Foster runs Hopelessly Romantic, a business to help men and women "get wise and keep their romance alive".

Personal life

Foster was married to Mohamed Hadid from 1994 until 2000. The couple have 3 children together, Gigi (b. 1995), Bella (b. 1996) and Anwar (b. 1999).[1]

Foster married musician David Foster in Beverly Hills on November 11, 2011, in a 11/11/11-themed ceremony, after becoming engaged on Christmas Eve of 2010.[3]

In 2012, Foster was diagnosed with Lyme disease. In December 2012, she reported that she was having a port implanted in her arm to help treat her chronic disease. On April 19, 2013, she underwent surgery to remove a port.[4]
