Yemito Ee Maaya[1][2][3] (Telugu: ఏమిటో ఈ మాయ) (English: What is this magic) is a 2013 Telugu film written and directed by Cheran, in his Tollywood directorial debut.[4][5][6][7] It stars Sharwanand and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, while Prakash Raj and Santhanam play supporting roles.[8] The title for this film was derived from a song from Missamma. It was made simultaneously in Tamil as JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai.[9] The film is a biographical entertainer, features soundtrack composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with lyrics penned by Anantha Sreeram, and background score composed by Siddharth Vipin.[10] Yemito Ee Maaya marks the beginning of a collaboration between G. V. Prakash Kumar and Cheran. Shooting for the film was completed by early 2013. It was initially scheduled to be released in November 2013, however it had been postponed and will be released in December 2013.

The soundtrack features six songs composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, who collaborated with Cheran for the first time through this film. Yemito Ee Maaya is also the sixth direct Telugu film for which Prakash has composed an entire soundtrack. The album was scheduled to release by the end of October, but subsequently got postponed. A set worth of Rs. 25 lakhs had been erected by director Cheran for the song "Hey Facebook", which focuses on how the youngsters of today socially interact with each other and date on Facebook.[11][12][13][14] The audio was released by Cheran's music company 'Dream Sounds Digital Solution', making this his second audio release, after JK (the Tamil version of the album). All lyrics were penned by Anantha Sreeram.[15] The audio met with positive critical reception, and was also well received by audiences.

Release
Sharwanand had finished dubbing for his character in both languages. Director Cheran revealed that Yemito Ee Maaya will be released on Internet, DVD and satellite, on the same day of its theatrical release, and no other South Indian film has been released in this manner. Cheran added that by releasing the film across all media on the same day, piracy can be curbed.[16]
