Yashavant Kanetkar

Yashavant P. Kanetkar is an Indian computer science author, known for his books on programming languages. He has authored several books on topics such as C, C++, VC++, C#, .NET, DirectX and COM programming. He is also a popular speaker on various technology subjects and is a regular columnist for publications Express Computers and Developer 2.0. His best-selling books include Let Us C, Understanding Pointers In C and Test Your C Skills. These books are specific to the long outdated Turbo C compilers, and do not contain reliable information on standard C language. He has created, moulded and groomed many IT professionals in the last decade and half. He has been awarded the "Best .NET Technical Contributor" and "Microsoft Most Valuable Professional" awards by Microsoft.His books still remain popular inside the Indian Subcontinent and is one of the major materials for IT companies placement preparation.

He has obtained his B.E. from VJTI, Mumbai and M.Tech from IIT Kanpur. His current affiliations include being Director of KICIT,[1] a training company and KSET,[2] both based in Nagpur.
