Yanqing County (simplified Chinese: 延庆县; traditional Chinese: 延慶縣; pinyin: Yánqìng Xiàn) is a subdivision of the municipality of Beijing located northwest of the city proper of Beijing. The county consists of 11 towns and 4 rural townships.

Administrative divisions

  • Rulin Subdistrict (儒林街道), Baiquan Subdistrict (百泉街道), Xiangshuiyuan Subdistrict (香水园街道)

  • Yanqing Town (延庆镇), Kangzhuang (康庄镇), Badaling (八达岭镇), Yongning (永宁镇), Jiuxian (旧县镇), Zhangshanying (张山营镇), Sihai (四海镇), Qianjiadian (千家店镇), Shenjiaying (沈家营镇), Dayushu (大榆树镇), Jingzhuang (井庄镇)

Townships:

  • Dazhuangke Township (大庄科乡), Liubinbao Township (刘斌堡乡), Xiangying Township (香营乡), Zhenzhuquan Township (珍珠泉乡)

Overview

The Jingbao Railway, Dazhen Railway, and China National Highway 110 pass through the county.

The county has an area of 1,992 km2 (769 sq mi) and a population of 275,433 (2000 Census). The county contains many ancient tombs and caves, as well as the popular Badaling section of the Great Wall.

The urban area of Yanqing (87,891 in township) has an area of 9.8 km2 (3.8 sq mi) and an estimated population of 100,000.
