Yam, California

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yam is a former settlement in Merced County, California.[1] It was located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southeast of Winton.[1]

A post office operated at Yam from 1911 to 1912, when service was moved to Winton.[1] The name comes from the abundance of yams being grown in the area.[1]
