Xilam is a French production company that specializes in animated series and feature films. Originally founded as Gaumont Multimédia, the company adopted its current name in 1999. The name is derived from its founder Marc du Pontavice and his wife Alix ("Xila" when written backwards, plus "m" standing for "Marc").

History

The origin of Xilam is closely related to the beginning of Gaumont Television, launched in early 1990. Programs such as Space Goofs and Oggy and the Cockroaches were internationally successful. In 2003, the company released its first animated feature film, the CGI-based Kaena: The Prophecy. A second feature film, Lucky Luke - Go West was released in 2007 their Third Feature Film was Oggy and the Cockroaches the Movie Released in August 2013.
