Xi Murong (Chinese: 席慕容; pinyin: Xí Mùróng; born 1943) is a writer and painter. She is most famous for her poetry, especially the collections Qi li xiang (Seven-li scent) and Wuyuan de qingchun (Unregrettable Youth).[1]

Personal life

Xi was born in 1943 in China. She moved with her family to Hong Kong in 1949 and then to Taiwan in 1955.[1] Her grandmother is a royal princess of Inner Mongolia.[citation needed]

Xi attended the Royal Academy for Science and the Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Subsequently she became a teacher of painting in Taiwan.

Writing

MuRong's first book of poems was Qi li xiang, published in 1981.
