Javier Porras Santana (born on August 22, 1981) is a T11 athlete from Spain who has a vision impairment and is a T11/B1 type athlete.

Personal

Porras was born on August 22, 1981 in Olot, Girona.[1] In 2012, he was living in the Catalan region of Spain.[2]

Athletics

Porras is a T11 athlete from Spain who has a vision impairment.[1][3]

In 2010, Porras competed in the Valencia Athletics Open, which was organized by the Federació d'Esports Adaptats de la Comunitat Valenciana (FESA).[4] He qualified for and competed in the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships where he was one of thirty-two competitors representing Spain.[5][2] He competed in the men's visually impaired 4x100 meter relay with Martín Parejo Maza (T11), Maximiliano Óscar Rodríguez Magi (T12), and Gerard Descarrega Puigdevall (T12) who finished in Spanish record national time of 45.45 seconds while earning a bronze medal in the event.[3][6] In 2012, he was a recipient of a Plan ADO €2,500 coaching scholarship.[7] Prior to the start of the London Games, he trained with several other visually impaired Spanish track and field athletes in Logroño.[8] In July 2013, he participated in the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships,[9] winning a bronze medal in the men's long jump T11.[9]

Paralympics

He competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics in Athens, Greece, the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China where he was the third best athlete in the triple jump. He competed at the 2012 Summer Paralympics,[1] where he finished fifth in the triple jump.[10]
