Wilków [ˈvilkuf] (German: Wilkau) is a village in Namysłów County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Wilków, which acquired its current borders after the administrative reforms of the country in 1973.[1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Namysłów and 54 km (34 mi) north of the regional capital Opole.
Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (see Territorial changes of Poland after World War II). The history of the surrounding areas can be dates as far back as the second half of the 10th century, when the lands belonged to the Piast dynasty.
The village has a population of 900.
