Wilbur Marvin "Moose" Thompson (April 6, 1921 – December 25, 2013) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the shot put. He was born in Frankfort, South Dakota.[1] Thompson attended the University of Southern California.[2] He competed for the United States in the 1948 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the shot put where he won the gold medal. He died on December 25, 2013 at the age of 92.[3]
