Wiener Blut (song)
"Wiener Blut" (German: "Viennese blood") is a song by the Neue Deutsche Härte band Rammstein off their sixth studio album Liebe ist für alle da. The song is reportedly sung about the Fritzl case in the town of Amstetten, Austria that began on 29 August 1984. Josef Fritzl lured his 18 year old daughter Elisabeth into the basement, drugged her and kept her captive in a dungeon he had constructed. He was discovered on 28 April 2008, 24 years later. During this time sexual abuse led to Elisabeth giving birth to several children. When played live, baby dolls are hung from the ceiling, which explode at the end of the song. This song keeps up Rammstein's tradition of writing lyrics based on macabre, real-life incidents such as Rammstein, Mein Teil, and Donaukinder.
