The White River rises in White Lake and flows in the unorganized territory of White Lake and in the municipality of Rivière-à-Pierre in the MRC Portneuf, in the administrative region of the National Capital, on the North Shore of St. Lawrence river in the province of Quebec in Canada.

Geography

The White River (Portneuf) covers a large catchment area (adjacent to the west side of the upper basin of the Rivière-à-Pierre) of 203 km²,[1] which is the eighth largest sub-watershed of Batiscanie. White River takes its source in White Lake (Lac Blanc) where a dam is built at the mouth. Over a dozen smaller lakes surrounding flow into the White Lake. Down, the waters of the White River flow into a series of lakes to the village of Rivière-à-Pierre, Lupe lakes, Ralph, Gilles, Tony, Lietto and Lorenzo. Its mouth pours the village of Rivìère-à-Pierre in the "river à Pierre".

The Portneuf Wildlife Reserve includes the middle part of the watershed of the White River (Portneuf). In back, the White River, we reached the southern boundary of the reserve is located at 6.3 km (direct line) from the village of Rivière-à-Pierre. As the last water before the northern limit of the plans are the Central and Ferriere lakes. The northern part of the watershed of the White River (Portneuf) is integrated into the Zec of the White River, including lakes Lorenzo and Tonty.
