Whiplash Smile is the third studio album by English rock vocalist Billy Idol. Released in 1986, it was supported by the singles "To Be a Lover", "Sweet Sixteen", and "Don't Need a Gun". "To Be a Lover" was the biggest hit from the album, peaking at No. 6 in the US, with the other two singles hitting the top forty in the US and around the world.[4] The album has been certified by RIAA platinum and by BPI platinum.

Though there was no title track, the album's title was mentioned on the single "Don't Need a Gun".
