West End Draught

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

West End Draught is a South Australian lager brewed by the South Australian Brewing Company founded in 1859, which was later acquired by Lion Nathan in 1993[citation needed]. West End Draught is a full strength beer with an alcohol percentage of 4.5%.

Other beers brewed under the West End brand are West End Export, West End Gold and West End Light.

West End is actively involved with the SANFL and were the original sponsors of the "Showdown" and the "Slowdown" in the Australian Football League. West End was originally named after winning side of the SANFL premiership 1978, the West Adelaide Bloods.[citation needed] In 1954, the tradition of painting the colours of the finalist teams of the SANFL premierships on the brewery chimney began.[1]
