Athletics

Wauconda competes in the North Suburban Conference/Prairie Division and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the Bulldog, and its colors are purple and gold. The 2007-2008 varsity football team qualified for the state finals after enduring several difficult seasons. Wauconda also has a basketball program which is supported by Purple Crush, a fan group inspired by the University of Illinois' Orange Krush. The pom/dance team and cheerleading squad have each qualified for sectionals and state in the past four years, and the cheerleading team has placed in the top 8 each year that they have qualified.
