Wath Athletic Football Club was an English football club based in Wath-upon-Dearne, West Riding of Yorkshire.

History

Wath Athletic Football Club became founder members of the Yorkshire League, which was first contested in the 1920–21 season.[1] Wath finished the season in third place, winning 15 of their 24 fixtures.[1] The club joined the Midland League in 1921 after a solitary season in the Yorkshire League, and finished the 1921–22 season in 18th place.[1] Wath achieved their furthest FA Cup progression in the 1925–26 season, reaching the first round.[1] The team faced Chesterfield of the Third Division North, and were beaten 5–0 at home.[1] Wath's highest league placing in the Midland League was achieved the following season with a fourth place finish.[1] The club withdrew from the Midland League in 1930 after the side finished in last place in the 1929–30 season.[1]
