Waskemeer (West Frisian: Waskemar) is a village of about 870 inhabitants in the municipality of Ooststellingwerf in the east of Friesland in the Netherlands.
The village lies in the north of Ooststellingwerf. It is named after a pond 2 km to the west called Waskmar, which in turn means wash-lake as it was used to wash sheep.
Football
Waskemeer has a football team called Fuotbalferiening Waskemar. Its uniform is black with the shirt having a green horizontal band and white arm band. The trousers are black with green pin strip, and green socks with black band.[1]
