Wampire is an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon, consisting of the duo of Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps. Their debut album Curiosity was released on May 13, 2013.
History
Wampire formed in 2007,[1] though Phipps and Tinder had been playing together since 2001. The duo become well known in the Portland house party scene for their dance-oriented electronic music.[2] After a shift in musical direction to create a more diversified sound,[2][3] the band began recording their debut album Curiosity in late 2012.[4] The album was produced by Jake Portrait from fellow Portland band Unknown Mortal Orchestra and released by Polyvinyl Records[5] on May 13, 2013.[6] The album was well received by critics, with positive reviews from Paste,[7] Pitchfork,[1] Allmusic,[6] Consequence of Sound,[8] and other outlets.
