Waldir Peres, real name Waldir Peres de Arruda, (born January 2, 1951 in Garça, Brazil), was an association footballer. He played goalkeeper, in particular with São Paulo FC and the Brazilian national team. His son Diogo Pires is also football player.[1]
In 2006, he was Vitória-ES U-18 team manager during Copa São Paulo de Juniores.
National team
He was capped 30 times for Brazil, between October 1975 and July 1982; he was a member of the Brazilian national team during the World Cup 1974, 1978 and 1982. He played five games during the World Cup 1982.
