Wakinoda Station (脇野田駅 Wakinoda-eki) is a railway station on the Shinetsu Main Line in Jōetsu, Niigata, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East).
Lines
Wakinoda Station is served by the Shinetsu Main Line. A new interchange station called Jōetsumyōkō Station is under construction close-by, and this will replace Wakinoda Station when the Hokuriku Shinkansen opens in March 2015.[1]

History
Wakinoda Station opened on 15 August 1921.[2]
The station is scheduled to close and be replaced by a new interchange station 120 m away called Jōetsumyōkō Station, which will open in March 2015 when the Hokuriku Shinkansen opens for service.[1]
Passenger statistics
In fiscal 2012, the station was used by an average of 121 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[3] The passenger figures for previous years are as shown below.
