WXWZ-LD is a low-power, independent television station in Guayama, Puerto Rico, broadcasting on channel 22, digital 23.1. The station is owned by JB Media Group. WXWZ brands itself as +MásTV.

History

The station was founded on November 2, 1990 by Papotito Rosario (owner of WJIT AM and WOLA AM). WXWZ-LP (formerly W22AX) is the first low power television station founded in Puerto Rico. The station is currently owned by JB Media Group. First known as "Canal 22", in 1995 it was known as "Telecentro". Some famous Puerto Rican news reporters worked at W22AX in early 90's, such as Mario Vega (actually in NotiUno), Jose Raul Arriaga (actually in WAPA (AM) & Dando Candela in WKAQ-TV), Jose Santiago (Public affairs Mun of Cidra), Jesus Rodriguez García (public affairs PR Dept of Education), Jose R. Gomez (El Pueblo Quiere Saber), Braulio Rodriguez (Musa Media Group), Jorge Antares (actor), Angel Irizarry (now at WIAC (AM) and Nestor Rodriguez (actually in WKCK am Cumbre 1470).
