WUJM (96.7 FM, "96.7 The Champ"), is a sports talk formatted radio station based in Gulfport–Biloxi, Mississippi. The station is owned by L&L Broadcasting, and they broadcast their format with an ERP of 4.3 kW.
History
WUJM was WLRK "Lite Rock 96.7", an adult contemporary outlet based in Gulfport-Biloxi in the late 1990s, and went to WUJM as "Jammin Oldies 96.7" with an urban oldies format.[citation needed] In 2003, a New Orleans station started playing a modern AC format on 105.3 FM as "105.3 The Zone" which could be heard on the Mississippi Gulf Coast so then 96.7 switched formats again to modern AC and named it "Molly @ 96.7". WUJM switched formats again, and became 96.7 Hank FM, a classic country format, until August 2011.
On August 27, 2011, WUJM dumped its normal classic country programing and began playing Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll, Part 2, also known as the "Hey!" Song, non-stop.
On August 29, 2011, WUJM was unveiled as The Champ 96.7 FM, a sports talk radio station.
Signal
WUJM is broadcasting from the same transmitter tower as its sister station, WXYK (107.1, The Monkey), in Gulfport's suburb of Orange Grove.
