WROD (104.7 FM & 1340 AM) is a radio station licensed to Daytona Beach, Florida and broadcasting an oldies format. The station serves the greater Daytona Beach area. As of December 2008, WROD is owned by Volusia Broadcasting LLC.[1] Volusia Broadcasting switched WROD's format from adult standards to oldies, in a nod to the station's heritage as a Top 40 outlet during the 1960s and 1970s.

History

In 1947, with 250 watts of power, WROD-AM went on the air as Daytona Beach's third radio station. By 1961, WROD was licensed to operate at 1,000 watts of power at 300 ft. The radio station operated from its transmitter site from its beginning to 2005, when its offices moved to 100 Marina Point Drive in Daytona Beach.

FM translator W284AV 104.7 went on the air in July 2012 simulcasting WROD-AM.[2]
