WRKT (100.9 FM) is a rock music formatted radio station in Erie, Pennsylvania. They play classic rock and new rock songs plus an array of local and regional sports. Notable on air personalities past and present include Ron "Klinester" Kline, Nat Massing, Mojo McKay, Allan Carpenter, Woody, Chris Rodler, and "Stat Boy". Launched in June 1989, WRKT (Rocket 101) is now over 20 years old.

Interference

As one travels east on U.S. Route 6 into the city of Warren, a Christian radio station on 100.7 FM (a WCTL repeater) starts to interfere with Rocket 101's signal.

History of the WRKT callsign

WRKT was at one time assigned to an AM station in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Call sign stood for "ROCKET 1300." The station served the Kennedy Space Center area (Titusville) to Melbourne.
