WKGR is a classic rock station licensed to Wellington, Florida and serving the West Palm Beach market. Owned by Clear Channel Communications, it transmits at 100,000 watts effective radiated power with an antenna height above average terrain of 980 feet. WKGR's signal can be picked up as far north as Melbourne, as far west as Moore Haven, and usually no further south than highway 595 in Fort Lauderdale. Its transmitter is located on the west side of Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound. Also sharing WKGR's transmitter tower are stations WPBZ (which itself was a primary competitor of WKGR before moving its rock programming to an HD Radio subchannel) and WMBX.

WKGR previously simulcast the programming of sister station WJNO on its HD2 subchannel starting in September 2010; by 2013 this was replaced with the signal of Christian rock station WREH.

Morning Programming

WKGR: The most popular and by far most controversial Morning Show in WKGR's long history was the 'Sea Bass and Gloria' Show in the mid '90s. Although a ratings sensation, there was constant philosophical friction between Sea Bass and Management on show direction. The Show would eventually last only last 2 years.

The 'Jimmy Johnson Hoax' and the April Fools 'Beatles Reunion' were just some of the now legendary Morning Show pranks that were popular with the audience but caused dismay among WKGR managenment. Mr. Sea Bass is credited with the landmark promotion 'Pet Palooza' which set County and State records for single day pet adoptions. This event has since been copied by radio stations across the country. Other notable events included the Sea Bass & Gloria DOORS PARTY at the Carefree Theatre (now gone), and the 'FREE MILLIE" animal rescue mission with Sea Bass & Gloria going to Puerto Rico to save a stray dog.

Other notable Morning Personalities included the talented Mark Frost (Jeffery Palm),and the legendary Tom Stevens, both from the Clancy Broadcasting 'Gourmet Rock' era of the mid 80's.

The family friendly BUCK and PEG Show was a steady mainstay in Mornings, and reasonably popular for several years as well.

After several station sales, Clear Channel took over and completely changed diirection by adding the nationally syndicated The Bob & Tom Show. On October 1, 2007 WKGR began simulcasting the Paul and Young Ron Show, which also airs on sister station WBGG-FM in Ft. Lauderdale.
