WHQR (91.3 FM) is the National Public Radio member station for Wilmington, North Carolina. The station is currently owned by Friends of Public Radio, Inc., a community group. It airs a mix of NPR news and talk, classical music, jazz and adult album alternative music.
The station signed on in 1984, bringing NPR programming to the last area of North Carolina without even a grade B signal.
