WGRX (104.5 FM) is a Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Falmouth, Virginia, serving the Fredericksburg area. WGRX is owned and operated by Telemedia Broadcasting, Inc.[1]
History
When it debuted at 7:00PM on May 17, 2001, its positioner was "Thunder 104.5 - Country That Rocks",[2] and it was a hybrid of mainstream and classic country, Southern rock and classic rock aimed mainly at men. For a time, the station ran the John Boy & Billy in the AM and Greaseman during PM drive time. Since then it has dropped the rock titles and become more of a mainstream challenger to rival WFLS, although classic country remains a regular part of the music mix. On January 7, 2013, WGRX launched country on demand a Jelli radio app service from 7-12 pm on Monday-Fridays where listeners can vote on their favoriate songs to be played.
