WGFB 103.1 FM is a radio station broadcasting an Adult Contemporary format. Licensed to Rockton, Illinois, the station serves the Rockford area. WGFB is owned by Maverick Media.

History

WGFB started as easy listening before moving into a soft AC as Lite 103. The station was Rockford's home of Delilah's love songs show. In 2000 the station flipped to HOT AC as B 103 with some success. At times B 103 competed with WZOK's Adult approach during the work day but was still defined as an Adult Contemporary. By 2002 WGFB moved back to soft AC adding such artists as Natalie Cole Kenny G Jim Brickman and Celine Dion back into their playlist. The station changes to Christmas music around Thanksgiving each year. By 2005 the stations music selection mirrored that of WSJY out of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, but covers much of the Rockford metro. By the end of the 2000s, like many AC's WGFB tweaked its playlist by dumping many of the slow songs some deem as sleepy and replacing Delilah with John Tesh in the evenings. Today B103 is much closer to the Hot AC format they started with in 2000. They still use the slogan of today's lite rock but have a more upbeat music selection.
