WDNE-FM is a Country formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Elkins, West Virginia, serving the North-Central West Virginia area. WDNE-FM is owned and operated by West Virginia Radio Corporation.

History

WDNE began broadcasting as WVHT in 1985 at 99.3 MHz with an ERP of 3,000 watts. Due to interference in the northern portion of the broadcast area from WPKL (located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania), WDNE-FM was allowed by the FCC to switch frequencies to 98.9 and increase ERP by 2,100 watts in the spring of 1998. Also up until that time, the station went off the air every night at Midnight and returned at 5:00 A.M.
