WCVQ (107.9 FM, "Q108") is a Fort Campbell-licensed radio station broadcasting a Hot Adult Contemporary format in the Clarksville-Hopkinsville broadcast area. The station is currently owned by Saga Communications of Tuckessee, LLC.[1] and is also broadcast on HD radio.[2]

History

The station was assigned the call letters WABD-FM on 1979-07-18. On 1986-12-03, the station changed its call sign to the current WCVQ.[3] WCVQ studios and offices are co-located with it sister stations WVVR 100.3, WZZP-FM 97.5, WRND-FM 94.3, WJQI-AM 1370, AND WKFN AM 540 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee; all of which are make up a cluster known as the 5 Star Radio Group, a unit of Saga Communications, Inc.

In 1968 the owners of WABD-AM (Ft. Campbell, KY) put a sister FM station on the air as WABD-FM. In 1986, under new ownership by Southern Broadcasting, the FM was upgraded to 100,000 watts and took on the call letters WCVQ FM "Q-108" on December 3, 1986 and began a gold-based adult contemporary format while the WABD AM 1370 changed to an urban format. Q108 has since been bought up by Saga Communications.

Gretchen Cordy, A Clarksville Native who Starred in Survivor: Borneo hosts the stations morning show along with Ryan Ploeckelman. The show is called "Ryan and Gretchen" and airs from 6-9AM.
