WCMI-FM (92.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Album Oriented Rock format. Licensed to Catlettsburg, Kentucky, USA, it serves the Huntington-Ashland radio market. The station is currently owned by Kindred Communications, Inc.

History

The FM allocation for Catlettsburg, KY at 92.7 MHz originally signed on with the call letters of WCAK in January 1972.[1] Other call signs included the following:

  • WKQI, January 1, 1986
  • WCMI-FM, November 29, 1988
  • WRVC-FM, May 16, 1995 Sunny 92.7[2]

On March 3, 2009, the station retrobranded to WCMI-FM.[3] WCMI-FM was the original call sign for the Ashland, KY FM allocation at 93.7 MHz (now WDGG). That facility had also previously used WRVC-FM in addition to WAMX.[4]
