WB Channel is a cable and satellite television channel launched by Time Warner and Turner International India Private Limited exclusively for Indian subcontinent. The channel is based in the city of Mumbai, Maharashtra. The channel features a mix of Hollywood films and television dramas from the WB Vault. This Warner pay channel is targeted at the Indian upward mobile class between the age group of 15-44.
History
This is the second English entertainment channel launched by Turner International India Private Limited in India after HBO.
- While sharing a name with the current TheWB.com online destination in the United States and the former The WB Television Network in the United States, WB in India is a distinct standalone channel (in ownership structure, programming offering and demographic target) unrelated to TheWB.com.[1]
Programming
WB India primarily broadcasts movies but also shows the comedy sitcom Two and a Half Men late nights.
Censorship
All movies and TV series broadcasts are censored to a considerable extent. Swear words are muted out and the subtitle text changed. Most scenes with too much blood or hint of erotica is totally edited out.
