Vrbanja is a municipality in the region of Spačva, Croatia, 24 kilometres (15 mi) southeast of Županja at an elevation of 87 metres (285 ft). The chief occupations include farming, livestock breeding and forestry. The village is located on the regional road Vinkovci - Gunja - Brčko (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Vrbanja is named after the willows (Croatian: vrbe). The municipality has a population of 5,174; 96.48% are Croats, while the largest minority consists of Slovaks (1.38%). Vrbanja is surrounded by Drenovci and Soljani.
This typical, Srijem-style, lowland village is located close to the famous forests of Spačva, abundant in wildlife. Pleasant accommodation facilities and venison specialities are offered in hunting lodges. The special forest vegetation reserve Radisevo comprises forests of common oak and hornbeam with beech.
The parish church of the Name of Mary was built in 1821. The church was renovated in 2008.
