Volujak (peak)

Volujak (Albanian: Maja e Vjeljakut/Maja e Vjelakut/Maja Vjelakut/Majae Vjelakut/majën e Vjelakut;[1] Serbian: Волујак, Volujak) is a peak of the Prokletije range in Kosovo,[lower-alpha 1] reaching a top height of 2,014 m (6,608 ft). Volujak creates part of the Rugova Canyon. This mountain can be seen from the city of Peć because it is only a few kilometers west of it.[2]

  1. Kosovo is the subject of a territorial dispute between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Kosovo. The latter declared independence on 17 February 2008, but Serbia continues to claim it as part of its own sovereign territory.
