Volga, Texas

Volga is an unincorporated community in Houston County Texas. It is 3 miles from Weldon and 20 miles from Crockett. A post office was established in 1897, but was discontinued in 1917 when the mail was sent to Weldon (which was later sent to Lovelady). In 1914, Volga had 100 residents, 4 stores, and a cotton gin. In 1945, the population was 25, and had 1 church and 1 business. It has since been dispersed.
