Voitto Valdemar Hellstén[1] (February 15, 1932 in Pertteli – December 7, 1998 in Turku), often spelled as Voitto Hellsten,[2][3] was a Finnish athlete who mainly competed in the 400 metres.
He competed for Finland in three Summer Olympics, in 1952, 1956 and 1960. In the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Australia, he won the bronze medal in the 400 metres together with Soviet Ardalion Ignatyev.[1]
Political career
From 1962 to 1970, Voitto Hellsten was a member of the Finnish parliament, where he represented the Social Democratic Party.[2]
