VION N.V. is an internationally operating company with two core activities: Food and Ingredients. The Dutch group produces high-quality foodstuffs for humans and animals. In 2012, VION's turnover amounted to € 9.7 billion. At the start of 2013, the company employed 21,000 staff. VION is not a listed company and has one shareholder, the Dutch Zuidelijke Land- en Tuinbouworganisatie (ZLTO), an agricultural and horticultural association with some 16,500 members.

VION Food Group consists of two core activities: - VION Food: founded in 2003 by a merger of Dumeco, Hendrix Meat Group, Moksel and NFZ. These include export abattoirs and meat processing. The product portfolio of VION's Food core activities comprises fresh pork and beef, a diverse range of convenience food products and a wide range of vegetarian consumer products. - VION Ingredients: which constists of Ecoson, Sonac, Rendac and Rousselot, a gelatin producer. VION Ingredients holds global positions in the slaughter by-product markets. Its core activity is adding value to proteins and fats. The products are used as ingredients in such markets as pharmaceutics, cosmetics, food, feed, energy and technology.
