Violetta (instrument)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The violetta was a 16th-century musical instrument. It was similar to a violin, but had only three strings. The term was later used to refer to the viola, particularly the small violas da braccio with the "festoon-shaped body".[1][2]
