Vincent Pontare mostly known as Vincent (born 13 May 1980 in Solna, Stockholm County) is a Swedish singer and songwriter.
Career
After studying music in Örnsköldsvik he moved to Stockholm to study music production for a year at Memus.
His debut album Lucky Thirteen was released in Sweden in November 2007 and with the title he pays tribute to his birthday on 13 May and plays with the contradiction of the classic unlucky number.
Since the breakthrough with "Don't Hate on Me" which was played frequently in a TV commercial for a mobile company Pontare has had time to shoot a video for the song "Miss Blue" in Los Angeles starring supermodel Anine Bing.
Pontare wrote most of his songs himself and co-produced all the songs on the album. To promote the album he went on tour and performed around 100 gigs.[1]
In 2010 Vincent released "Baby Hurricane", the first single from his forthcoming second album.
Songwriter / Producer
Pontare is also involved in music writing and production.
In 2013 he co-wrote the Avicii singles ‘Hey Brother’ and ‘You Make Me', Katy Perry's 'Love Me' (from PRISM) and Galantis' single 'Smile'.
Pontare has during 2013 also co-written and produced Veronica Maggio's album ‘Handen i fickan fast jag bryr mig’ and Petter's album 'Början på allt', together with Magnus Lidehäll and Salem Al Fakir.
He has also written songs for Swedish House Mafia,[2] most notably in "Save the World". Other successful songs that he have written are amongst others "Kick Out The Epic Motherf**cker" (Dada Life), "Hungry Hearts" (Nause), "Reload" (Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash) and "Younger" (Seinabo Sey).
Personal life
Vincent Pontare is the son of Roger Pontare[3] and Elisabeth Pontare. His father is a Swedish musician who took part in Eurovision Song Contest twice representing Sweden with "Stjärnorna" (1994, in a duet with Marie Bergman) and "When Spirits Are Calling My Name" (2000), placing 13th and 7th, respectively in the competition.
Vincent spent part of his childhood in the United States in Tennessee. Vincent has two brothers, Jimmy Åkerlund his senior and Viktor his junior.[4] He presently resides in Vasastan in Stockholm.
Vincent began dating Swedish singer Agnes Carlsson in 2009. The couple's engangement was announced in April 2013.[5]
