Vikarabad is a town and municipality in Ranga Reddy district of Andhra Pradesh in India. It was named after the fourth Amir of Paigah, Vikar, prime minister of Hyderabad and Berar.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Vikarabad had a population of 42,258. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Vikarabad has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 57%. In Vikarabad, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
